Hola Amigas/os,
Today is Memorial Day, and just as the name indicates, it is a day for remembrance.
Today we remember all who have fought or have enlisted into any and all of the branches of the United States Armed Forces.
Today we remember all who have fallen for us.
We have to remember they might have not started a war or knew what they were getting into but they stayed and fought.
We have to remember there are many veterans around us still fighting, here in our country, for their own rights.
Today I say Thank You to all the people, Amigas/os, in our military forces.
AlwaysAmiga,
Marilyn
Special dedication to:

Felicidades Mami
Hola Amigas,
Tomorrow, May 15th, would have been my mother's 73rd birthday. I always wondered "why do people celebrate the birthday of a dead person?" I just got it. Really.
What I got is that person lived and was born on that day.
Mami, my mother, lived and had a life. She was born on May 15, 1941, had 48 birthdays, and then she died. I thought "well she's dead. She can't have anymore birthdays." Amigas, was I wrong?!?!
I have to celebrate her birthday. Had she not been born I would not be here. The mere fact that she is in another realm does not negate the fact that she was in this realm for whatever brevity of time. She roamed this earth just like you and I are roaming it presently.
Not celebrating her birthday, or anyone's birthday, is like saying "they never existed" or "dinosaurs never existed".
I believe the pain of not having her physically clouded my ability to see it is her birthday. I always acknowledged but never celebrated.
The irony of my thought is that I do celebrate birthdays in a big way. I celebrate the birthdays of my children, grandchildren, the people around me. Last year, for Papi's 75th, we had a big old party.
I will now celebrate the birthday of my mother and all others.
Tomorrow, May 15th, is my mother's birthday.
WOOOHOOOOO
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMI…TE AMO.
With a healing heart…

My cousin, Amiga, one of my besties, send this to me today, Mother's Day. I think it encompasses mothers.
Thank you AmigaAna for sharing with me now and Always...

To the best MOTHERS on the planet! You sacrificed and devoted your life to your children. At 2:00 am when they had fevers, when they got their first boo boo, when puberty hit and the first sassy word came out of their mouth, and when they broke our hearts. We gave what we knew how without a father and without a guide book. Give yourself a big hand at being the best Mother on the planet. Happy Mothers Day!!

Enlightenment
On Monday, May 5, 2014, I started a juice cleanse. I initially thought about doing 5 days, but committed to 3days. The first day is always the most difficult, but I did get through the day and the cleanse. While going through the process, you must pray! It is so important. It gets you through the hunger, cleanse, and supports you with clarity and direction. It is the most enlightening experience!
Each time I have done a cleanse, it has the same affect. It gives you so much clarity. It allows you the space to go deep into your soul.
What showed up for me? Please know that the spirit speaks to you in so many ways, song, dance, a stranger, your family and friends, in silence. But when you are cleansing and fasting. The spirit shows up so clearly. Why? Because you don't have all the clutter.
Monday, May 5th. Day 1- I saw and felt strongly.....that I am change! I will continue to be the POWERFUL WOMAN....that I am. Yes. I am not perfect. I am tough. I am opinionated. Why? because I had/have wonderful, powerful, quality experiences and I want the best for everyone and everything! Like most people, I do not like wasting my time.
Time is important to me.
While walking to work on Tuesday, May 6th-Day 2. The spirit spoke to me and said, in time EVERYONE, shows themselves, be patient and know. That opened up sooooo much for me. Put work people into perspective...put most people into perspective.
Wednesday, May 7th -Day 3. Tough day. I went to hot yoga. I felt so invigorating. I felt like I could literally conquer the world. I spoke to the amazing amiga Marilyn, who started this amazing platform for women to share. I shared my story with her about my cleanse and what showed up for me. Being the amazing woman that she is......was so excited for me. Encouraged me to share my experience through my cleanse. I was so eager to journal my experience and why not on such an amazing space with so many amazing beautiful souls. Thank you.
Trust me....I was HUNGRY..I woke up a couple of times in hunger, but I drank water and prayed. It really got me through.
I know I am truly loved by GOD. He has brought me through so many obstacles. I know I am who I am for a reason. I know I am back for a reason. I know that I am working with one of my close friends for a reason. My work is not done yet! I want only the best and everyone to be the best.
Amigas, be the best you can be!
Amigas, be the CHANGE YOU CAN be.
AMIGAS, be YOU!
I LOVE YOU! Happy Mothers Day Weekend!!!!!

Hola Amigas,
AmigaDesiree wrote this on her Facebook page. She sent it to her friends (Amigas). I asked her if I could share it with you because it embodies how I feel. Enjoy the read. It's a good one.
Gracias AmigaDesiree for allowing me to share your beauty.

I was watching My Family recipe rocks on the Live Well channel the other day where Joey Fatone travels to Las Vegas to meet with a group of women who call themselves the Women Who Wine. They gather every week for good food, laughter, dancing and, of course, wine.
The Women Who Wine are like sisters who share in each other's joy and pain. They are always there to support each other no matter what and when they get together. The group line dances, paints wine glasses and creates great recipes that always include wine.
After watching the show I began to think how grateful I am for those women who I have surrounded myself with for over the last twenty some odd years or less (some much less but never the less) who have always been there for me and I wanted them all to know how special they are to me! Some I no longer see often nor talk to often but still hold a special place in my heart. ,
So let me start out with my usual “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood” and we should all be grateful and thankful to the Lord that we are alive and able to just be who we want to be or at least close to it.… But in giving thanks to the Lord we must also give thanks to those around us who have helped develop and shape our character. Those who have been by our sides through thick and thin, those who have seen us at our best and our worst, those that no matter what under any circumstance let us know that we are important, that we are loved and that we matter! Those that in the end feel more like Sisters or as we call them Sisterfriends!
Those who just stand by us and are relentless in their quest to make us see we are better than what we think we are (when we don’t see it ourselves), those that see the true value in friendship, those that make us see we are worth the battle, those that pull us by our bootstraps and tell us to get it together before we lose all our friends because we are just being reckless, those that by any means necessary will help get us through the good and the bad!!! With that being said I want to dedicate these words to those women in my life who have done just this for me so many times over! Sistersfriends here’s to you!
Why do I have a variety of friends who are all so different in character? How can I get along with them all? I think that each one helps to bring out a "different" part of me.
With one of them I am polite, I joke with another friend, I sit down and talk about serious matters with one, with another I laugh a lot, I may have a drink or two with one or all of them, I listen to one friend's problems, then I listen to another one's advice for me.
My friends are all like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. When completed, they form a treasure box. A treasure of friends!
They are my friends who understand me better than myself, who support me through good days and bad days. We all pray together when needed and for each other just because.
Real Age doctors tell us that friends are good for our health. Dr. Oz calls them Vitamin F (for Friends) and counts the benefits of friends as essential to our well being. Research shows that people in strong social circles have less risk of depression and terminal strokes.
If you enjoy Vitamin F constantly you can be up to 30 years younger than your real age. The warmth of friendship stops stress and even in your most intense moments it decreases the chance of a cardiac arrest or stroke by 50%. I'm so happy that I have a stock of Vitamin F!
In summary, we should value our friends and keep in touch with them. We should try to see the funny side of things and laugh together, and pray for each other in the tough moments.
Thank you for being one of my Vitamins!
Thank you for all the conversations that have helped shape my life into what it is today, I salute each and everyone of you! Smooches, Blessings and Abundance!

Who Inspires You
Hola Amigas,
Sunday is Mother's Day, well, everyday is Mother's Day I say.
My mother (Mami) passed away 23 years ago. I miss her still.
Mother's are very special people.
We give birth!!! That is all I have to say.
But all the other things we do are countless, to say the least. I am not even going to attempt to label, name, or itemize because I will be here all day and night and so will you.
I know, and am, all kinds of mothers…good ones, bad ones, ones that have been there, some that have not, some that are mothers even though they have never given birth or have children…like I said numerous and countless.
Mothers are very special.
I think about my children ALL the time (and now my grandchildren too). I know Mami thought of us all the time too.
After Mami passed one of my Amigas said to me "you should be happy...". If looks could kill my Amiga would have been dead right there on the spot. But she continued "you should be happy she was in your life for the amount of time she had. She made you the woman you are." She was absolutamente 100% correct.
You see I believe Mami and I chose each other, the same way I believe my children and I chose each other. I believe we choose each other to become who we are (whatever that is). We choose one another because our spirit needs the experience.
I needed someone who inspired me, nurtured me, into becoming a passionate woman with abundant love to pass around. That is why I write.
Mami is not the only woman who inspires me. Like I said, I have met and know many mothers. I have an Amiga, who writes also, who acts, in my life, like Mami (I love you G). She protects me, nurtures me, inspires me to no end.
I listened to a meditation today "Oprah & Deepak Expressing Global Peace" about how to bring love into the world. One of the first things Deepak says is to think of someone you love, a child, a parent and to hold on to that feeling through the meditation. For me, that feeling is so immense and indescribable. It is LOVE…immense and indescribable.
I want that feeling to be spread all around the world.
I love you Amigas…ALL of you…
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY…
ALWAYS…

EARTH DAY
Today was Earth Day.
Earth Day should be everyday.
I went to Union Square Park in New York City (NYC) to enjoy the Earth Day (ED) activities with my 5 year old. She got her face painted, got a heart balloon, planted a seed she brought home to grow. Most importantly she got the meaning of recycling.
I try to recycle as much as I can and she helps me. We have different canisters for glass, plastic and paper.
We met Sally who dresses in tutus, tights, and sneakers and talks to children about eating healthy.
We collected Cabot cheese, zipcar handed out seeds on a mini globe paper to plant and watch grow, www.smartsitting.com a rigorous screening process that is only passed by 7% of NYC care givers, I bought products from Spadet. She makes all her products naturally. I washed my hands with her soap and it was love at first touch www.spadet.com. I had a great conversation with a young lady from The Nature Conservancy in New York about the volunteer opportunities they provide. I got samples of organic feminine products from www.Organyc-Online.com, Honest Tea, and Angie's Boom Chicka Pop sea salt popcorn.
It was FAAAAAABULOUS.
And, of course, it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
Thank You NYC for providing the space, people, and LOVE.
Always,
AmigaMarilyn
